As part of our continued expansions, we are in search of qualified and experienced personnel for the following vacancies. The company needs to recruit a number of key positions in its plants located in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. & Headquarter in Abu Dhabi.

Process Engineer (Olefins)

About the job

Borouge is on the way to increase our capacity even further with a multi - billion dollar mega- project called Borouge 3. By the end of 2013 we will have added a 3rd Ethane cracker to create the largest Ethane cracker complex in the world. This new cracker will serve two polyethylene and two polypropylene  plants as well as a low density polyethylene plant. All these plants will boast the enhanced Borstar process technology and in total will drive the annual production capacity of our Ruwais operations to 4.5 million tonnes per year. A US $ 1 billion contract was awarded in early 2010 to build the next ethane cracker.
Reporting to the Department Manager, you will be part of the Production team and will be responsible for:

• Performs a variety of process engineering duties in the plant. Includes monitoring performance of plants and facilities, preparing daily performance summary and recommending corrective actions to deal with abnormalities.
• Prepares studies to develop, test and implement changes in plant operations.
• Provides functional assistance to various plant personnel in test-checking alterations, diagnosing process and corrosion problems and preparing technical specifications of operating chemicals and materials.
• Prepares data for new projects and major revamps.
• Prepares instructions and plans for defined maintenance activities.
• Participates in HAZOP and HAZAN studies pertaining to proposed modifications, including identifying potential operational and safety related problems and co-coordinating appropriate solutions.
• Develops and uses computer programs for process plants monitoring and yield predication. Applies computer simulation models and other advanced techniques to achieve optimum plant performance. Assists IT & A Department in working out process control strategies, systems analysis and modifications.
• Assists trainer in giving training classes, as required.

Minimum Requirements:

As a successful candidate you will have:

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical or related field.
• At least 10 years work experience in an Olefins / Ethylene / Gas Cracker / plants, including 6 years in an Engineer position.
• Good knowledge of production and process engineering in an Olefins / Ethylene / Gas Cracker plant.
• Ability to speak, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Excellent analytical & leadership skills.
• Excellent team player.
• Proficient in the use of computer, MS Office, CMMS, etc.
