As part of our continued expansions, we are in search of qualified and experienced personnel for the following vacancies. The company needs to recruit a number of key positions in its plants located in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. & Headquarter in Abu Dhabi.
Mechanical Technician
About the job
Borouge's Maintenance Organization is called "Plant Availability (PA) Function" and responsible for the efficient maintenance and ensure the availability for smooth operations of the plants in Ruwais. It consists of five departments- Maintenance Execution Polyolefins, Maintenance Execution Olefins, Maintenance Execution Infrastructure, Maintenance Strategy and Services. The three first ones are essential to carry out the routine daily maintenance jobs in the plants, while the others are supporting those activities.
Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be part of the maintenance execution team and will be responsible for:
- Carrying out new installations, modification and testing of equipment through various stages as per plan and in line with Supervisor's instructions and checks adherence to all parameters before handing over the equipment to Operations.
- Carrying out complex repairs doing minor troubleshooting following the maintenance plan or in response to failure of equipment.
- Checking the equipment to locate the fault, decides on appropriate method of repair and carries out the job by dismantling, assembling, carrying out dimensional checks, replacement and repair of the parts.
- Discussing the major overhaul and repair jobs with the Supervisor to plan their removal to the workshop for repair, replacement or reassembly.
- Participating in carrying out the major equipments, area or unit shutdown, and Turnarounds in the Plant.
- Identifying and uses appropriate tools based on the job and safety requirements.
- Complying with all HSE&Q and fire related rules and regulations and observes all requirements stringently.
- Assisting the Supervisor in complex repairs, critical equipment shutdown and helps in maintaining data log generating detailed report of jobs.
- Carrying out in-house refurbishment of components and sub assemblies of equipments in line with the Supervisor's instructions and checks adherence to all parameters before handing over to warehouse.
- Taking initiative to implement continuous improvement programs, proposes improvements in all kind of maintenance programs in technical and safety areas, is involved in punch listing, commissioning and pre-commissioning activities.
Minimum Requirements:
As a successful candidate you will have:
- Technical High School or Diploma in Mechanical or related field.
- Minimum six (6) years experience in mechanical maintenance field in the oil, gas, petrochemical or related industry.
- Good knowledge of repair, testing and maintenance of mechanical tools and equipments in the oil, gas, petrochemical or related industry.
- Awareness about Hazardous Area Classifications and HSE Policy.
- Ability to speak, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Very good initiative and team player.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office - Word, Excel, etc.
- Hands-on knowledge on CMMS-SAP is an advantage.
