As part of our continued expansions, we are in search of qualified and experienced personnel for the following vacancies. The company needs to recruit a number of key positions in its plants located in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. & Headquarter in Abu Dhabi.

 

Olefins Operator


BASIC FUNCTION

    • The Olefins Operator works either in the control room or in the field according to an agreed rotation schedule.
    • In the control room he operates control panels (DCS) comprising highly sophisticated and computerised equipment on shift in the assigned operating area. It includes the operations and control of instrumentation on the control panels governing process qualities and quantities.  Constantly visualises, diagnosis and manipulates micro processing electronic controlling facilities to ensure safe and proper function and that products meet the required stipulated specifications and quantities. He provides functional direction to the field operators to adjust plant operations.
    • In the field he monitors on shift in the assigned operating area, the operation of processing plant and all equipment and ongoing maintenance work.  It includes regular inspection of operations (field tours), adjustment of a variety of valves and switches, maintaining all equipment in synchronisation and taking and analysing log readings from a variety of gauges and indicators.  Reports any anomalies noted to his Supervisor and/or to the Operator in control room duty.
    • When he works in shift or in daytime he reports to the appropriate supervisor.
    • He substitutes the shift supervisor when required.

WORK PERFORMED - GENERAL

    • Accepts shift from off-going Operator with detailed log sheet of operational adjustments and changes during previous shift and hand-over job and completed own log sheet in an orderly and efficient manner to incoming Operator.
    • Discusses all accidents, incidents and near misses with Supervisor and fellow Operators in order to avoid recurrence.
    • Observes all safety, fire and security rules and regulations, including the use of protective clothing and equipment and ensures that all personnel working in his area comply with safety procedures.  Ensures the maintenance of assigned area in a clean and tidy condition.
    • Attends the departmental safety, health and good housekeeping meetings, participates in plant inspection tours and takes active participation in implementing Company policies on safety, health, loss prevention and quality management.
    • Performs other similar or related duties as assigned, including training fellow Operators, completing log book, conveying messages/instructions between Operators for operational adjustments, etc.
    • In case of major disturbance or otherwise as required he will change the working area on Shift supervisors request, giving his assistance where needed.
    • Readiness to participate in emergency response team (ERT) work in emergency cases, in training sessions or whenever needed.
    • Work in daytime as required and instructed, for example during plant commissioning and at major plant maintenance T/A.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Completion of Technical Secondary (12 years) education.
    • 6 years experience in plant operations in petrochemical or in oil/gas processing industry.
    • Good knowledge of English – Spoken and written.
    • Good IT skills.
