Analyzers  Technician

Basic Function:

To carry out skilled installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of On Line & Off Line  Analyzers (mainly Gas Chromatograph) in the operating plants and adhere to work specifications and HSE measures.

Main Work Performed and Responsibilities:

• Discusses work assignment with supervisor and examines faulty equipment to determine scope of work, and obtains necessary tools and spare parts before starting the job.
• Carries out Analyzers Calibration , skilled diagnosis and defect repair for equipment in accordance with the maintenance plan or in response to failure of equipment.
• Checks the equipment to locate the fault, decides on appropriate method of repair and carries out the job by dismantling, assembling, replacement or repair of the parts.
• Carries out the routine, predictive and preventive maintenance checks and tests for Analyzers. Ensures accurate and correct test measurements, reporting variations to supervisor.
• Discusses major overhaul and repair jobs with supervisor to plan their removal to the workshop for repair, replacement or reassembly.
• Carries out new installations, modification and testing of equipment through various stages as per plan and in line with supervisor’s instructions and checks adherence to all parameters before handing over of equipment to Operations.
• Participates in carrying out the annual shutdown or major equipment turnarounds in the Plant.
• Complies with all HSE and fire related rules and regulations and observes all requirements stringently.
• Assists supervisor in complex repairs, critical equipment shut-down and helps in maintaining data log of jobs.
• Takes initiative to implement continuous improvement programs
• Propose improvements in all kind of maintenance programs
• Propose technical improvements
• Involved in  commissioning and pre-commissioning activities
• Carries out work preparation activities for immediate action.  Work Orders, check spare parts and order materials if needed from the stores.

Minimum Requirements:

• Two years Diploma after Secondary school graduation.
•  Knowledge of On Line &Off Line Analyzers in an oil/gas or petrochemical plants, repair, testing and maintenance of field Analyzers & Lab. Analyzers. Knowledge of  Applied Automation G.C will be an advantage.
• 6 years work experience in Analyzers maintenance in the same or similar industry.
• Awareness about Hazardous Area Classifications and its installations.
• Awareness about HSE policy.
