As part of our continued expansions, we are in search of qualified and experienced personnel for the following vacancies. The company needs to recruit a number of key positions in its plants located in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. & Headquarter in Abu Dhabi.

PDS Designer (Mechanical/Piping)
BASIC FUNCTION
Design & detailing for Mechanical, Piping & Process etc. Overall responsible for Plant Design System (PDS) 3D-Modelling for Equipment, Piping, Civil & Piping support, Foundation, U/G services, Cable trenches etc. using PDS modules i.e. Equipment modelling, Piping Designer, Drawing Manager, Isometric Drawing Manager, Support modeller etc. Creation of 3D Piping models, Equipment models, Support model, G.A. drawings, Isometrics & MTO extraction etc. Work independently to update, modify or create new piping design in the 3D models for new system establishment or existing system design modification in the plant for Plant Modification projects (PMP).
WORK PERFORMED
- Mainly responsible for creating design documents and PDS model updates related to plant modification projects (PMP) packages.
- Prepares design & detail drawings using best international design engineering practices in accordance with Borouge design specification PMP packages for review by Mechanical / Piping Project Engineers.
- Updates PDS models for new design & piping routing as aesthetically, economically, maintainability, accessibility etc. To build the reliable system PMP packages for internal clients (Plant operation) Olefins, Poly-olefins, product Handling & Plant Utilities etc.
- Updates the 2D-intelligent P&ID using PDS-2D Schematic environment, Smart Plant 2D-SP PID system, Generate equipment layout drawings, Isometrics and issue MTO (material take off) summary using PDS modules for PMP packages.
- Follow project guidelines, instructions, plan, schedule & distribution by Design office team leader.
- Works closely with project engineers for finalizing PMP design packages.
- Visits sites, takes and records site measurements as well as prepares free hand drawings and/or field sketches to facilitate accuracy in the detailed drawings.
- Makes revisions or modifications of existing drawings using instructions received from project engineers.
- Incorporates and Updates project engineer comments, field changes and prepare as built drawings or documents and handover to document controller for update in Electronic data management system (EDMS).
- Provide Design review for existing & new design PMP changes by 3D model walk through using SPR (Smart Plant Review) for ongoing & future projects to the internal clients & project engineers. Provides design inputs to contractors & consultants.
- Reviews and updates Borouge procedure(s) related to design, drafting and modelling aspects in accordance with the latest available technology, standards and experience gained through previous projects.
- To be familiar with Borouge drawing numbering system, CAD procedures & guidelines, Technical procedures & guidelines, work instructions & HSE company policies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Good working knowledge familiar with general piping design practices & piping material specifications. Also familiar with international codes / standards ASTM, ANSI, DIN, ISO etc.
- Shall be fluent in English (Written / Spoken) and having good communication & interpersonal & analytical skills. Team work and across functions / disciplines.
