As part of our continued expansions, we are in search of qualified and experienced personnel for the following vacancies. The company needs to recruit a number of key positions in its plants located in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. & Headquarter in Abu Dhabi.

Fire & Rescue Team Leader

BASIC FUNCTION

Directs and supervises the fire prevention aspects in the plant. Includes providing specialist advice and assistance on the fire prevention to all departments, arranging training programs and lead trainings and participates in the investigation of fire incidents in the plant.

WORK PERFORMED

  • To assure the reliability & availability of all FRP Facilities. & communication means and fire call points.
  • To coordinate & liaise with all Site projects & contractors for advice and support.
  • To coordinate & liaise with Fire Protection Engineer and coordinate with Operation / maintenance regarding Fire Protection System according to Asset Care Program and to be updated on daily activities & planed Jobs.
  • Directs and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the Fire & Rescue Team. Performs supervisory functions at the level established by management for the position.
  • Develops and officiate the fire, rescue and emergency programs and procedures.  Ensures that such procedures are align with ADNOC Code of Practices and regulations & according to NFPA standard and are communicated to all on - site personnel and participates in giving specific training on such activities. Audits, on continuous basis, the effectiveness of such procedures and regulations and initiates recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop emergency plans in coordination with operations; identify the hazards relating to fire and explosion existing in the plant with reference to studies conducted during the project phase or later and advise appropriate emergency requirements and containment plans.
  • Investigate all emergencies related to industrial incidents involving company and contractors’ properties. Coordinates such investigations with all concerned and provide appropriate recommendations as necessary. Analyses causes, determines preventive action to reduce these occurrences and prepares and distributes reports on all such cases. Follows up on action plans to improve prevention skills measures in the plant.
  • Maintains adequate stocks of fire and emergency equipment, clothing and consumables, stocks of chemicals, spare parts and additional safety appliances and equipment. Raises requisitions and purchase orders for the replenishment of existing stock or for special order requisitions.
  • Directs and designate job watch activities. Includes arranging for the standby of fire subordinate personnel participating in actual job watch where necessary, such as for, hot tapping, mechanical sealing/plugging, and ensures that all safety regulations and methods are adhered to.
  • Initiate training programs to improve the skills of the professional fire fighting & Rescue and ERT (emergency response teams) and enforces compliance with Company policies and regulations & assure all operational levels are trained & ready for incidents commanding.
  • Assures the availability & maintenance of First Aid Room at Fire Station.
  • Assures the fitness of all Fire & Rescue Team through regular fitness check up by hospital & providing & scheduling fitness exercises.
  • Carries out other similar or related duties as assigned, such as preparing rotation and shift schedules, feeding various fire fighting related data into the computer terminal, ensuring the welfare, safety and continued level of awareness of all assigned personnel, completing monthly activity reports and annual statistics of fire and fire damage losses, and preparing basic data for departmental report and tables of checked equipment with actions and recommendations.
  • Develops or assists in developing training programs for fire fighting use of SCBA (self contained Breathing Apparatus) for all Borouge employees.
  • Lead the above-mentioned trainings including preparation for each training session, record keeping of implemented trainings.
  • Set up objectives & Targets for the Fire & Rescue Section & Evaluate personal performance and KPI.
  • Participate in REFMAC regular Meeting & coordinate communicate with neighbors RIC companies for Mutual aid & preparedness.
  • Pre plan & modulate Fire Fighting Risks and resources.
  • To be a member in Facility Response plan – HSE Planner during Emergency

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline and Diploma in Fire engineering.
  • 10 years experience in fire, safety and emergency matters preferably in a similar industry.
  • Good knowledge of English and Computer skills.
