As part of our continued expansions, we are in search of qualified and experienced personnel for the following vacancies. The company needs to recruit a number of key positions in its plants located in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. & Headquarter in Abu Dhabi.

Electrical Engineer


Basic Function:
To aim for continuous improvement in the maintenance of the Electrical field in a systematic and methodical way.  Direct and supervise the installation, maintenance, repair, trouble-shooting and modification activities for a wide range of electrical equipment, control panels, power systems, switchgears etc. in the plant and participate in the planning and implementation of all system modifications, expansions and installations.

Main Work Performed and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews equipment performance and records to determine state of equipment and breakdown causes. 
  • Carries out reliability/availability analysis, presents regular reviews/reports on performance of equipment and provides suggestions for improvement.
  • Develops monitoring programmes for major electrical items, including site guidance on equipment observations and failure analysis.  Uses this information to analyse equipment failures and advise on remedial measures.
  • Participates in the planning and supervises implementation of predictive, preventive, modification and major shutdown maintenance programmes for the electrical equipment in the plant, using equipment past performance and manufacturers data.
  • Prepares maintenance technical manuals and procedures to start the plant in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Contributes towards preparation of Department’s budget and yearly plan by identifying areas of work, capital and operating budget estimates etc.
  • Discusses work orders with initiators and Electrical supervisors and recommends best method of resolving the problem.  For more complex faults, personally handles diagnosis and repair of equipment.
  • Prepares detailed equipment checklists for routine maintenance and the estimation of detailed manpower and skill requirement, follows up on work progress and advises on spare parts replacement, refurbishment etc. 
  • Provides engineering assistance to the Engineering team for Electrical design and specifications of new equipment, modifications or projects.
  • Reviews from technical angle the bids for the supply of new equipment.  Liaises with manufacturer’s representatives during installation and commissioning periods and coordinates with the Inspection department for the testing and inspection of work done.
  • Reviews annual requirement for electrical material, spare parts etc., advises on stock levels, material descriptions etc. and suggests alternatives or interchanges.  Prepares the documents required for purchase of equipment.
  • Monitors performance of contractors, reviews their reports, assesses performance and approves invoices for payment.
  • Guides, directs, trains and motivates subordinates to perform to their fullest potential, work effectively together as a team and ensures adherence to HSE norms by all.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduation degree or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical Engineering. 
  • Good knowledge of installation, commissioning, maintenance and trouble-shooting of a variety of large and complex electrical equipment in the oil/gas or petrochemical industry. 
  • Knowledge of English. 
  • Ability to manage a team. 
  • Analytical skills. 
  • 6-7 years work experience in the Electrical Maintenance field.
