As part of our continued expansions, we are in search of qualified and experienced personnel for the following vacancies. The company needs to recruit a number of key positions in its plants located in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. & Headquarter in Abu Dhabi.

Contracts Engineer
Basic Function:
Participates in Administration and control of all outsourced services and manpower related to all maintenance activities carried out in the Division. Assists in identifying maintenance works suitable for contracting out and in preparation of detailed technical specifications and scope of work thereof. Participates in preparation of Services Orders, budgetary estimates for contract works, monitoring contract costs, evaluating contractor performance and periodic reporting. Participates in work directions to assigned outsourced manpower in carrying out maintenance works on equipment. Assists in implementation of Company’s HSE rules & procedures for contractors.
Work Performed :
- Participates in identifying & arranging maintenance works beyond in-house resources and need to be contracted out. Co-ordinates with concerned discipline engineers to prepare detailed specifications, scope of work, pricing templates etc. which are to be sent to Procurement for developing contracts. Consults for identifying works within contractual scope and those requiring a variation.
- Discusses the contracted works with others in the Division to ensure optimum use of resources such as time, material and manpower.
- Allocates work to outsourced manpower assigned to him to carry out back-up support maintenance activities for the plant equipment and facilities, checks progress and guides them to ensure all necessary test-runs and checks are complete before equipment is handed back to plant. Ensures completed jobs for conformity to statutory and Company standards and regulations.
- Coordinates for additional manpower mobilization / demobilization.
- Makes follow-up for the outsourced (Contractor) services in terms of time frame and cost.
- Assists in overall administration and control of all maintenance contractors at site, which includes work follow – up, maintaining records of performance for recording Key Performance Indices KPI’s), back-up documents for invoicing, personnel attendance and equipment availability etc. Participates in conducting site visits of contractors. Participates in reviewing contractors invoices and supporting documents.
- Assists in preparation of budgetary estimates of contracted out services for input to annual budgets, controlling and monitoring contract expenditures and provides information on actual costs versus budgets for management review. Suggests cost control measures.
- Monitors and ensures work of maintenance contractors carrying out assigned plant modification projects in the plant to ensure compliance with specified terms and parameters.
- Provides input on contractor performance, to help in pre-qualification exercises and contract close-out reports. Maintains records of retention monies, warranties and ensures timely preparation of completion certificates for issuance.
- Provides technical clarification on contract scopes to contractors and other related discipline engineers/supervisors. Participates in technical bid evaluation.
- Assists in implementation of Company’s HSE rules and procedures for the contractors including usage of all PPE’s and use of safe work practices. Periodically reviews monthly and other reports submitted by contractors to ensure all HSE related statistics are provided and properly analyzed
Minimum Requirements:
- B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 6 years experience in contracts administration and control in an industrial environment preferably in an oil/gas or petrochemical plant as an engineer.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Ability to draft contract work scopes independently.
